Blake Milteer is a curator of photography for the National Galleries of Scotland where he oversees the MacKinnon Collection, a shared collection of photographs between NGS and the National Library of Scotland. Prior, he was Curator of Photographic Collections at the National Library of Scotland where he completed the first comprehensive survey of NLS’s extensive photographic holdings.
Before relocating to Scotland, Blake served as Museum Director and Chief Curator at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and as Curatorial Assistant for the Denver Art Museum’s Modern and Contemporary Art department. He has also been an adjunct professor for the University of Colorado and his writing has been published in numerous artist monographs and exhibition catalogues.
Blake holds an MA in art history/museum studies from the University of Denver, and a BFA in fine art/photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
