Alexander Hamilton is the current chair of SSHoP. For three decades he has worked in the field of art and ecology with photo-grams as his primary image.
“The principal concern of my research is to change people’s relationship with what they see. I want to create art works that encourage the viewer to renegotiate their position in relation to their environment.”
His work has been shown in major group and solo exhibitions across UK and around the world. Alex has also received awards from the Leverhume Trust and the British Council. Since 2010 he has been working on a programme of public commissions for clinical institutions such as the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow. His latest project is to create Multi-Sensory Spaces. This is to open at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences in 2019.
