We have an exciting team of enthusiasts for photography. Chair of SSHoP, Alexander Hamilton has been working with photo-grams to explore the relationship between art and ecology. Deputy Chair, John Pelan is the Director of the Scottish Council on Archives. He explores the importance of archiving photography today through this turmoil of mass image-production. Julie Lawson is the chief curator at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the editor of our bi-annual publication ‘Studies in Photography.’ Pete Moore, the Wildlife Resource Project Officer at Scottish National Heritage. He is who you go to when you want to sign up for our brilliant publication. Elaine Robson is based in Edinburgh and has been creating photographic work with plastic cameras since her first Lomographic Fish-eye in 2007.
The very well known Scottish portraitist Robin Gillanders organises events such as the annual lectures and visits private collections. Cathy Marsden is a specialist in the Rare Books, Manuscripts & Maps department at Lyon & Turnbull and also in charge of our advertising. Aayushi Gupta, a young emerging photographer curates our online content. Blake Miteer and Louise Pearson from the Scottish National Portrait Gallery help us maintain our extensive archive and build up a network. And finally Ben Reiss is the Morton Photography Project Curator for the National Trust of Scotland. He helps us take SSHoP to all parts of Scotland.
Write to us, sign up, or simply come along to one of our events and meet us! We are always ready to speak about all things photography!
