The Scottish Society for the History of Photography (SSHoP) is delighted to introduce a new and dynamic committee that includes some of Scotland’s most active photographers, curators, historians and gallerists. Our thanks to the outgoing committee, led by David Bruce – its work secured for SSHoP a vital place at the heart of Scottish photography.
This year, SSHoP took part in Scotland’s first Season of Photography, touring pop-up workshops from Wick to the Borders. In November, SSHoP will publish its journal articles on our updated website for the first time – join us to talk all things photographic with a rich list of contributors, from Wendy McMurdo to Takashi Arai and more.
Our 2015 Photographer’s Lecture, in association with the Jill Todd Photographic Award, welcomes eminent, lively and critically acclaimed artist Hellen van Meene to the National Galleries of Scotland on November 5th.
Watch this space for more from our new Chair, Scottish photographer Alexander Hamilton, and for our 2016 programme.
