
Members’ Visit to Photographic Archive at the Royal Botanic Garden
Date: 27 July 2013 commencing at 11.00 am.
Location: The Archive is based in the Administrative block at 20A Inverleith Row. Access is via the Old Reception in the Balfour Building to the north of 20 Inverleith Row.
The visit is to look at the photographic collection and the Archivist, Leonie Paterson will show historic photographs of the Garden and Scottish collections as well as photographs taken in far off lands, including some in Egypt, but mostly China, and there will also be some photographic equipment.
In addition, there will be shown the photographs by George Paxton from the late nineteenth century and Dr Helen Bennett will outline her recent research on these.
