Introducing our New Chair

SSHoP is honoured to announce its new Chair, distinguished photographic artist Alexander Hamilton. He follows David Bruce, Marc Boulay and Acting Chair Annie Lyden, all of whom we thank for their energetic and effective leadership. Alexander’s resonant body of work in the field of art and ecology spans over forty years, has garnered a range of awards, and is exhibited internationally.

His most recent work comprises an exciting programme of public commissions for notable clinical institutions such as Glasgow’s new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow. In 2017, Alexander’s latest project, Multi-Sensory Spaces, will open at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences.

We are delighted to welcome a Chair whose own practice testifies so clearly to the vital role that creative photography – in all its forms – plays in today’s world.
